Among Us had a great year and it hit twitch as a storm. We can call it 2020’s biggest surprise. US Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez played Among Us game streaming it on twitch, which got a lot of attention, crossing 430,000 live streamers.

As a report by Neilsen’s Super Data, Among Us game had roughly half a billion active players in November. The report also says it is the most popular game ever in terms of monthly plays.

Despite those huge numbers, Among Us is not in the list of Top 10 games by earnings; due to its low ad monetization.

From August to November, The PC version, which costs $5, is responsible for 64% of its revenue by having just  3% of the total player base.

Among Us has recently revealed its new ‘The Airship Map’ trailer during The Game Awards 2020. It is expected to arrive in early 2021.

Among Us’ popularity and the highest hit in November is mostly helped by the hype around. However, it deserves that hype. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made a record-breaking Twitch stream in late October, followed by the second stream at the end of November. The wide-spread of the game is solely dependent on all the social streamers around the world.

Amoung Us’ popularity made the team cancel their sequel plan to concentrate on this first game.

Among Us was only available for PC and Mobile for most of the year; only recently released for Nintendo Switch. The game is likely to release for Xbox consoles next year. But there is no official news yet on its Playstation release.
