New star wars: knights of the old republic game is in development but not by the original developer BioWare or the present owner Electronic Arts. However, Electronic Arts have the exclusive star wars license till 2023 to expire. There is no word or clue on which studio is behind it, with reports saying that fans will never guess. There is a small matter of what the new star wars KOTOR game might look like. Of course, most of the original game and its sequel are not the same as the ongoing movies or series on Disney Plus.
In the latest episode of the B.O.B the Podcast, Star wars insider Bespin Bulletin spoke a few words about the new game’s development. These words referred to the previous comments made by games journalist Jason Schreier on the gaming forum ResetEra. In his words, “Amongst my digging, I heard there is a Knights of the Old Republic project in development somewhere. I talked to a couple of people, and I also found out that Jason Schreier said that it’s not with EA, and we’ll ‘never guess’ who the studio is that’s making this game.”
Nate Najda, communications manager of Wushu studio, confirmed Bespin’s comments. He also added that the Studio is not a mysterious as you think but a name most people are not aware of.
The first version of the game was released in 2003 as an Xbox exclusive. The game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was set four thousand years ago before creating the empire. You can play as a Jedi, either Male or Female, who must cross-cross the galaxy to thwart Malak. Depending on the decisions, you will end on either the light or dark side of the force.
In 2004 Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, a sequel by Obsidian Entertainment, came out. This sequel is also an Xbox Exclusive. Since then, there is no sequel of the game. Even though Bioware continues the story in the 2011 MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic. A new Star wars KOTOR game outside of EA seems to be pausable.
