Niantic is adding a new Shadow Legendary to Pokémon GO. Team Go Rocket leader Giovanni will have Shadow Ho-Oh in his grasp starting next week in Pokemon GO. This your first chance to catch the Shadow form of the Legendary Rainbow Pokémon Ho-Oh.
Team Go Rocket leader Giovanni will hold the Shadow Ho-Oh from Thursday, June 17, 2021, at 12:00 AM to Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at 12:00 AM [local time].
To fight with Giovanni, you need a Super Rocket Radar; however, there will be a chance to earn one. Niantic is bringing a Team GO Rocket Special Research Story — “A Seven-Colored Shadow”. Completing all the tasks will get you a Super Rocket Radar, which you require to find and challenge Giovanni. Defeating him in the battle, and you’ll get a chance to catch Shadow Ho-Oh.
As he will hold Shadow Ho-Oh till September 1, you’ll have more than two months to rescue it. You can refer to the official blog post for more info.
