Niantic has updated all the events lined up for December 2021 in Pokemon GO. Pokemon GO December 2021 will have a colossal kickoff with the Season of Heritage. Niantic is bringing back Zekrom and Reshiram to Pokemon GO Raids and also bringing Kyurem to the game in the second half of the month. Not only that, a lot of featured Pokémon, Researches and other bonuses are waiting. So for you to get things ready, here’s everything you need to know.
December Research Breakthrough encounters
From December 1, 2021, to January 1, 2022, you will encounter Deino in Research Breakthrough encounters for the entire month.
Weekly Bundles
Every Monday throughout December, a one-time purchase bundle will be available in the shop for 1 PokéCoin. It contains a Remote Raid Pass and other items.
Legendary Pokémon Raids
Niantic is bringing back Zekrom, Reshiram, and Kyurem to the Pokemon GO five-star raids.
- Zekrom and Reshiram: December 1 – 16
- Kyurem: December 16 – 31
Every Wednesday in December, a Raid Hour event will occur from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM [local time]. The following Legendary Pokemon will take more gyms during the Raid Hour on that day.

Upcoming Events
- Season of Heritage: The new Season in Pokemon GO begins on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at 10:00 AM [local time]. The season will feature Pokémon GO Tour: Johto and more to be expected. The Season of Heritage lasts till Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at 10:00 AM [local time].
- Swinub Incense Day: On Sunday, December 5, 2021, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Swinub will be attracted more frequently to Incense. Try catching more, and if you’re lucky, you may encounter a Shiny Swinub. In addition, both Ice-type and Ground-type Pokémon will be attracted to Incense throughout the day.
- Dragonspiral Descent: An event inspired by the Unova region’s Dragonspiral Tower will take place from Tuesday, December 7, 2021, to Sunday, December 12, 2021. Niantic to reveal more details soon.
- Pokémon GO Holidays Part 1 and Part 2: The winter-themed Pokémon GO Holidays event returns on Thursday, December 16, 2021, and runs till Friday, December 31, 2021.
