Trainers, we’re making some adjustments to the upcoming Friendship Day event:
– The Collection Challenge reward will be increased from 100,000 to 175,000 XP.
– There’s no longer a Global Challenge for this event.— Niantic Support (@NianticHelp) April 21, 2021
The Pokémon GO Friendship Day Event takes place on Saturday, April 24, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM [local time]. The event features several Grass-type Pokémon, and they will spawn more frequently in the wild during the event time frame.
In addition, Niantic is featuring one of the rare Grass-type Pokémon Sewaddle to catch during the event. So look out for it.
It’s a friendship-themed event, so the chance of getting a Lucky Pokémon while trading with a friend is boosted. To make the trade more accessible, Niantic has increased the minimum required distance between friends for a trade to 40 km. The increased chances of getting a Lucky Pokémon and minimum trade distance of 40 km will stay active from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM on the event day.
Above all, you’ll get triple the usual amount of stardust for catching a Pokémon (3x Catch Stardust). Also, The Incense and Lure used during the event time will stay active for three hours.
