Pokemon GO January Community Day 2022 features Spheal and 3× Catch XP

Niantic is bringing yet another Community Day for January 2022 to Pokemon GO. The January Community Day features Spheal, the Ice and Water-type Clap Pokémon. It’s an excellent chance for trainers to catch a Shiny Spheal as the chances are high on a Community Day. They can also evolve it to learn the event-exclusive move and take advantage of in-game bonuses. So for you to get things ready, here is everything you need to know.

Date + Time

Sunday, January 16, 2022, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM [local time].

It is a six-hour time frame. But, you can still get an exclusive move with evolution until up to two hours afterwards, that is 7:00 PM [local time].

The Ice and Water-type Pokémon Spheal is the featured Pokémon of January Community Day 2022. Spheal will appear more frequently in the wild during the event. If you’re lucky, you may get a chance to encounter a Shiny Spheal ✨. It’s an excellent opportunity for trainers to catch better and/or Shiny Spheal.

Exclusive Move

If you evolve Sealeo (Spheal’s Evolution) into Walrein in the event time or up to two hours afterwards, the Pokémon evolves knowing Charged Attack Icicle Spear and Fast Attack Powder Snow.

Pokémon GO Spheal Community Day Special Research

On this month’s Community Day, Niantic offers an event-exclusive special research story called “The Spheal Deal”. Access to this special research story will be available in the in-game shop for US$1.

Other Bonuses

In addition to Spheal’s frequent encounters, Niantic will be bringing a few more bonuses too.

Additionally, there’ll be a one-time purchase of the Community Day Box available for 1,280 PokéCoins. That includes 50 Ultra Balls, 5 Super Incubators, 5 Lucky Eggs, and an Elite Fast TM.
