Niantic is bringing yet another Community Day event to Pokémon GO for May. A great chance for trainers to catch featured Pokémon, learn event-exclusive moves, and take advantage of in-game bonuses. So for you to get things ready, here is everything you need to know.
Date + Time
Saturday, May 15, 2021, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM [local time].
It is a six-hour time frame. But, you can still get an exclusive move with evolution, up to two hours afterward, that is 7:00 PM [local time].
Featured Pokémon
The Normal and Flying-type Pokémon Swablu is the featured Pokémon of this month’s Community Day. Swablu will appear more frequently in the wild during the event time frame. If you’re lucky, you may get a chance to encounter a Shiny Swablu ✨. It’s a great opportunity for trainers to catch better and/or Shiny Swablu if they already had one.
Exclusive Move
If you evolve Swablu into Altaria in the event time or up to two hours afterward. The Pokémon evolves with knowing the Charged Fairy-type Exclusive Move – Moon Blast.

Community Day Special Research
On this month’s Community Day, Niantic offers an event-exclusive special research story called ‘Cotton-Winged Bird.’ Access to this special research story will be available in the in-game shop for US$1.
Other Bonuses
In addition to Swablu’s frequent encounters, two more in-game bonuses stay active throughout the event time frame. First, the egg hatch distance will be reduced to 1/4 of the normal distance if you place an egg in the incubator during the event period. Second, the Incense that you use during the event will also remain active for three hours rather than the usual one hour.
Additionally, there’ll be a one-time purchase of the Community Day Box available for 1,280 PokéCoins. That includes 50 Ultra Balls, 5 Super Incubators, 5 Incense, and an Elite Fast TM.
