Commemorating the April 30 release of the New Pokémon Snap for Nintendo Switch, Pokémon GO is celebrating it with a special event. On New Pokémon Snap for Nintendo Switch, trainers can travel to islands, photograph various Pokémon and create their own Photodex. Okay, Let’s talk about the PoGO event. It will be a photography-themed event, and there are some Featured Pokémon, Research Tasks, and more. So for you to get things ready, here’s everything you need to know.
Date + Time
From Thursday, April 29, 2021, at 10:00 PM to Sunday, May 2, 2021, at 8:00 PM [local time].
Featured Pokémon
During the event time, Pokémon inspired by the deserts, jungles, and underwater landscapes of the Lental region will appear more frequently in the wild. Such as:
- Lotad
- Cacnea
- Ducklett
Smeargle will be appearing in snapshots more often than usual. And if you’re lucky, you might even encounter a Shiny Smeargle ✨.
Note: Smeargle will appear in snapshots merely a limited number of times. And you may encounter Shiny Smeargle only in the event time frame.
Raids
In addition to the frequent spawns of above featured Pokémon, the following Pokémon inspired by the Lental region will appear more often in raids during the event:
- Vaporeon
- Meganium
- Trapinch
Other Bonuses
There will be event-exclusive Timed and Field Research tasks available throughout the event to complete and get rewarded. These Timed and Field Research tasks will more likely focus on tasks like taking snapshots.
Also, a camera avatar item and a camera-themed Gift sticker will be available in the in-game shop during the event. The new Gift sticker will also be available from PokéStops. You can read more details on the Pokémon GO blog.
