Niantic has brought a new mega evolution, Mega Lopunny, to Pokémon GO. Spring is coming, and Niantic is celebrating with a spring-themed Pokémon GO event. Featured Pokémon, New Shiny Pokémon, Mega Lopunny, Bonuses, and a lot more coming. So for you to get things ready, here’s everything you need to know.
Date + Time
Sunday, April 4, 2021, at 10:00 AM to Thursday, April 8, 2021, at 8:00 PM [local time].
Featured Pokémon
During the spring-themed event, the following Pokémon will appear in the wild more frequently than usual:
- Pikachu wearing a flower crown
- Exeggcute
- Marill
- Plusle
- Minun
- Buneary
- Bunnelby, and more.
If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny Bunnelby ✨. So, Good Luck with that!
Chansey wearing a flower crown will also be appearing in the wild. If you evolve any Pokémon wearing a flower crown, the evolution also wears a flower crown. If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny Chansey ✨.
Shadow Exeggcute will appear more often in Team GO Rocket battles.
Egg Hatches
The following Pokémon will be hatching more often from 2 km Eggs:
- Eevee wearing a flower crown
- Pichu wearing a flower crown
- Happiny wearing a flower crown
- Exeggcute
- Togepi
- Azurill
- Buneary
- Munchlax
- Rufflet
- Bunnelby
If you’re lucky, you might get a Shiny Happiny ✨ hatched from the Egg.
Mega Lopunny debuts in Pokémon GO
Mega Lopunny is making its Pokémon GO debut as part of the event. The Mega-Evolved Pokemon will appear as a Mega Raid boss. Defeating it will reward you with Lopunny Mega Energy, which you’ll need to Mega Evolve your own Lopunny.
Field Research Tasks and Collection Challange
Event-exclusive Field Research tasks will be available during the event time-frame. Complete them to encounter Azumarill, Rufflet, and more!
The spring-themed Collection Challenge of featured Pokémon will be available during the event. Complete them to receive a Lucky Egg, Mega Lopunny Energy, and XP.
Other Bonuses
In addition to the featured Pokémon and field research tasks, three more bonuses stay active throughout the event time frame. First, when you hatch an egg, you’ll receive double the candy that you usually get (2× Hatch Candy). Second, when you use a Lucky Egg during the event, it will last for one hour. And finally, when you place an egg in the incubator during the event, it’ll hatch at half the distance (1/2 Egg Hatch Distance).
Also, there will be Mega Lopunny–inspired avatar items available in the shop during the event. And event-exclusive spring-themed Gift stickers will be available from PokéStops and Gifts during the event. You can read more details on the Pokémon GO blog.
