Niantic celebrates this New Year 2022 by bringing a special event to Pokemon GO. The event features Pikachu with New Year Hat, Slowpoke with 2020 glasses, and lots of Costumed Pokemon. The Season of Heritage Story continues, and lots more are coming. So for you to get things ready, here’s everything you need to know.

Friday, December 31, 2021, at 10:00 PM to Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at 8:00 PM [local time].

You can evolve Slowpoke wearing 2020 glasses to Slowbro wearing 2021 glasses or to Slowking wearing 2022 glasses.

Other Bonuses
- Check the in-game sky on New Year’s day for Fireworks!!!
- The distance required to hatch an egg will be reduced to half during the event (1/2 Hatch Distance).
- Hatch an egg to get double the Hatch Stardust and Hatch Candy in the event time frame.
- Event-exclusive Timed Research tasks will be available. Completing them will reward you with various costumed Pokémon.
In addition to even-themed Pokémon encounters, themed Field Research Tasks are also available. Completing them will reward you the encounters with some of the event-themed costumed Pokémon listed below:
