PUBG Mobile India does not get permission for launch from MeitY

We all know that PUBG is planning to return to India with its Indian version of the game. The company also has registered itself as an Indian company in November. PUBG Mobile India even has an official webpage, Instagram and youtube account that mentions its comeback with an investment of $100 million. After all these announcements and news from PUBG, all the game fans felt very excited and are eagerly waiting for the official release of the game. But the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has bad news for the fans.

It has denied permission for PUBG Mobile India to relaunch in India. This was given in response to two different RTI applications. In response to a file by MediaNama to RTI, “Meity does not grant permission for starting to any website/application/service. Accordingly, Meity has not granted PUBG/PUBG Mobile India.”

The Application to RTI is for seeking clarity on whether Krafton or any subsidiary of the company received permission for the re-launch of PUBG Mobile in India. The RTI response doesn’t provide any details on whether permission is not granted for PUBG Mobile Indian version or not.

Shortly after the ban, PUBG Corporation took over PUBG Mobile publishing rights from Tencent. The same company also holds the PUBG PC version having in-game content and improvements. The company is also establishing a local office with fresh hiring of 100 employees. Not only that, but the company is also actively collaborating with leverage local companies to strengthen its gaming service.

PUBG Mobile India is definitely facing many issues and still trying to come back, and let’s wait for the official announcement from the company itself.
