Good News for Indian gamers, PUBG Mobile’s relaunch is just around the corner. And it is likely to be renamed “Battlegrounds Mobile India.”
We’ve been hearing a lot of speculations going around ever since the ban of PUBG Mobile in India by the Government. If I say a lot, I mean it. See what happened in the timeline.
- Eight months ago, back in September, the Indian Government had officially banned 118 Chinese apps, and PUBG Mobile is among them.
- And by October 30, the company had to shut down the servers and its services in India. That was a sad story but not the end of it.
- Later on November 9, the company gave a hint that it is coming back by making a partnership with Microsoft Azure.
- And finally, on November 12, they announced on their official Instagram account that they are coming back. Yes, they did it. They announced their comeback in India with a $100 million investment.
- And in the same month, PUBG India PVT LTD registered as an official Indian company with the Incorporation date of November 11, 2020.
- Meantime, the company used to post job openings on LinkedIn. And on December 17, 2020, a piece of news that came up from nowhere read, “PUBG Mobile India does not get permission for launch from MeitY.”
Later, we heard many speculations as the government nodded to the company for its relaunch in India. The game title is always on the headlines with assumptions and expectations. However, it is the title with humongous fame and userbase. So they’re all waiting. Finally, we hear the unofficial news that PUBG Mobile is relaunching in India. And it is coming back with the new name Battlegrounds Mobile India.
Yet it is unofficial, but it doesn’t seem to be fake. First reported by GemWire, the new game’s website is getting ready with the domain “battlegroundsmobileindia.com” and Krafton Inc. officially registered it. We rechecked it for you; here is the Whois record for the particular domain.
As you can see, the initial creation date of the domain is March 17, 2021. We can assume the official announcement from the company might not be so far.
PUBG also teased a new battle royale game called PUBG: New State. The pre-registrations are already live globally but not in India. Once Krafton officially announces the Battlegrounds Mobile India, the company may consider bringing the PUBG: New State to India, yet another assumption.
So that’s been it. Thank you for reading, and do share the article if you get a bit piece of information. Also, keep an eye on this space for more relevant updates. Stay safe, and we hope to see you around.
