Qualcomm reportedly in plans to Launch Android Gaming Pad like Nintendo switch

Qualcomm is a company that needs no introduction; it makes powerful chipsets for Android phones. Now, this American Multinational company is looking to spread its wings to make a gaming pad. This gaming pad will be a portable device that will be just like the Nintendo switch. The catch is that this device will be running on Android 12.

According to a report by Android Police, this gaming console resembles Nintendo Switch but will be running on Android OS with a Snapdragon chipset inside. They claim that they had viewed the non-final version of the device but have decided not to disclose them. The report explains the design of the gaming device, which of course, is a non-final version.

According to them, the device is similar to the Switch having a screen in the middle and detachable joycon style on either side. This design resembles a thicker and bulkier smartphone in the middle. The company says there is a reason for that bulkiness of the screen. They are using a new cooling system to make sure the processor works faster and efficiently than in a slimmer phone. Qualcomm uses this large space to pack a bigger 6000mAh battery that will quick fast charge technology.

To build this gaming pad, Qualcomm uses the help of a premium supplier, but they couldn’t verify the name. This supplier is responsible for the supply of parts and plays an important role in the design. There are no exact dimensions of the product finalized yet, but according to Andriod Police, it might be around 6.55-inch.

Qualcomm is looking to launch this portable gaming pad in Q2 of 2022. Another feature that the device might have is the older Snapdragon X55 5G modem. This modem will allow users to connect with other players wirelessly. However, it is still unclear whether Qualcomm is looking to bring a WiFi version to the masses or a 5G version.
