There is no doubt in calling this one of the biggest leaks in the gaming industry. GTA 6 or the Grand Theft Auto 6 game that was under development by the Rockstar Games has faced the issue. On September 18th there was a leak by a user in the GTA forums that has a file consisting of more than 90 videos of the upcoming GTA 6 gameplay.
The user posted “Here are 90 footage/clips from GTA 6. It is possible I could leak more data soon, GTA 5 and 6 source code and assets, GTA 6 testing build.” The leaked videos made their way to YouTube and Twitter setting the news in buzz. These videos consisted of gameplay with voice-over, gunplay, robberies, and a map. The game seems to resemble the famous Vice City and also has a female main character. But after the launch, there was a lot of debate around whether the leak is legit or not. Since the leak came out of the blue and the source was from a random user rather than a regular leakster.
While the debate was going on the leaks Rockstar games the developer of the game announced that the videos are legit. They mentioned it as a network intrusion and that the leak will not affect any online servers or the game development. Since the game is still in the development or testing stage Rockstar Games thought of announcing it in style. It was unfortunate for the company to let the news about the game come out this way. The company also mentioned that the game will be above everyone’s expectations and that the news about it will be out as soon as the game is ready.
