Sony is removing Cyberpunk 2077 from their Playstation Store and also giving a full refund of the purchase. Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most awaited games in 2020 and is out earlier this month. The game makers have pushed the release of the game multiple times before its release on December 10th. Since the release of the game, it is getting mixed reviews regarding many bugs.
On Thursday, Sony mentioned that they are removing the game from their store and giving a full refund by filling the form. Some of the PS5 users now cannot see Cyberpunk 2077 in search results in the Store app. Players have found many bugs in the game, and in PS5, the game runs well in backwards compatibility mode. But when it comes to the case of PS4, the game performance is a lot worse. In the Eurogamers review, the game has a low framerate, poor texture pop-in, and poor performance.

This decision by Sony was just after a few days from an announcement from the CD project Red. The game developers have officially announced the unsatisfied purchase from users of PS4 and Xbox One to request a refund. Unfortunately, due to Sony’s refund policy, those who bought the digital version for PS4 couldn’t get a full refund.
After the announcement from Sony CD project Red in their investor’s page mentions :
The decision [to disclose Sony’s decision] was undertaken following our discussion with SIE [Sony Interactive Entertainment] regarding a full refund for all gamers who had purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store and want a refund at this time. All copies of the game previously purchased digitally on PlayStation Store remain available for use by their respective buyers. Gamers can still buy physical versions of the game in retail and mail order stores. All copies, whether digital or physical, will continue to receive support and updates from the Company.
It is still unclear when Sony will bring Cyberpunk 2077 back to the store. Sony mentions that the game will be removed from the store “until further notice. This is not the same in Microsoft’s case, where there is no announcement regarding the issues.
If the game is running well and has no issues, you can continue playing the game. The physical and digital copies in other stores are still available. The developers of the game promised to release patches to fix the issues by February 2021. Let’s just the game gets better with those updates and patches and returns to PS5..”
