Sony unveils another tech for their next-gen Playstation 5 VR, the new controller. Last month the company announced a new headset for VR gaming. The new VR controllers will be having haptic feedback for both controllers. The new controllers are orb-shaped, unlike the current generation move motion controller.
These new VR controllers look similar to Facebook’s Oculus Quest 2 Controllers. Sony’s new VR controller has the same adaptive trigger technology found in the DualSense PS5 controller. Both the controllers have tension in the triggers. They have finger touch detection to detect the place where you rest your thumb, index, or middle finger. Sony says this will let users make more natural gestures with their hands during the gameplay.
Sony plans to bring the prototypes to its development community members to see what ideas they come up with. This new controller definitely looks more Next-gen to the current motion movement sensors. Sony, in its blog post, shows the images of how the controller looks in design. They say the ring on the controller will also include in the tracking to Sony’s VR headset.
Last month, Sony introduced a new VR Headset but hadn’t shown any prototypes or images of it. But now they have shown how the controller looks like that will be working with the VR Headset. This shows how confident they are in their next-gen gaming consoles and technology.
A few weeks back, Sony also mentioned six new VR games coming by the end of this year. Some of these games do support the PS4, but the rest will be coming in the PS5.
