Looks like OnePlus is getting into trouble with the new OnePlus Nord 2 5G. The phone was launched in July almost; after a year, they have launched their first Nord lineup. OnePlus Nord 2 is their first phone to come with a MediaTek chipset inside. The phone has got a lot of positive responses regarding the performance and look. This is the second report regarding the OnePlus Nord 2 explosion.
An Advocate named Gaurav Gulati, on his Twitter posted pics and mentioned the explosion. He mentions that the phone has exploded in his gown while he was in the Court chamber. MySmartPrice first reported this news, and the Tweet was done on September 8th. When MySmartPrice reached Gaurav, he mentioned the situation of how the blast took place. While the blast had happened, the phone was neither being charged nor being used. He felt something hot in his lawyer gown pocket and later found smoke coming out of the phone and threw the phone away. After throwing the phone, the OnePlus Nord 2 has exploded. He mentioned that the phone got heat even when he was in an air-conditioned room.

He also mentioned that he would file an FIR against the company and put a block to the sales of the device in India. Though there was no damage to human life, the Advocate has got injuries around his stomach. Later OnePlus, after knowing about the device has tried reaching him through Twitter to investigate the issue. But Gaurav has refused to show the device to them. OnePlus has even tried to reach him by going to his house and perform a diagnosis in his presence. Gaurav has also refused this as he thinks the company might change the evidence of manufacturing defect.
On the other hand, OnePlus India mentions they take these issues seriously and are concerned for users’ safety. If the claim is legit and does have a manufacturing defect, we are ready to compensate. In addition, they mentioned that the phones would be going under various levels of pressure and tests so that they are up to industry standards.
This is the second incident about the explosion of the OnePlus Nord 2. Earlier, a woman in Bengaluru has reported the explosion of a brand new OnePlus Nord 2. OnePlus has reached out and mentioned that the explosion was due to external factors and not due to a manufacturing defect.
