Apple iPhone 13 is around the corner, and we have been getting some leaks and rumors. Not that many exciting leaks until now. This new rumor says that Apple iPhone 13 will communicate with the satellite to call or text. According to the article in the Macrumors iPhone will have a chip that will give the ability to connect to the satellites.
Ming-Chi Kuo, in the article, explains that the hardware used in the new Apple iPhone 13 will be able to connect to the LEO(Low Earth Orbit) satellites. If this is achieved, users can call or use the internet without the 4G or 5G connection. In contrast, other phone manufacturers are waiting to adopt the Qualcomm X65 baseband chip to implement satellite communications till 2022. At present, the LEO communications are solely used by Elon Musk’s Starlink internet. But Apple is looking at Globalstar for providing aid to use the LEO communications.
Apple chooses Globalstar because Qualcomm is already working to support the n53 band for the X65 baseband chip. A partner network will be using Globalstar’s satellite communications service that different iPhone 13 can use. Kuo mentioned that LEO satellite communications are similar to the 5G mmWave in terms of the impact. Apple has already invested in hiring a team to research and develop these kinds of technologies.
While these rumors about the Apple iPhone 13 float around, we already have got the entire timeline leaked. According to the leaked timeline, Apple iPhone 13 will be launched on September 14th. We are still not sure about this new technology in the iPhone 13 as it is still a rumor we have to wait and see until the official launch.
