Apple launches iPhone 13, 13 Pro, 13 Pro Max, and 13 Mini with some minor tweaks

There are no major changes from the previous generation iPhones

Apple iPhone 13

The launch event that most people wait for has done on September 14th. We got to witness the new iPhone lineup from Apple. There were many leaks and news about iPhone 13 floating around just before the launch. One of the most interesting leaks was the satellite calling feature. Of course, that leak didn’t come out true as iPhone 13 improved the flaws from the iPhone 12 lineup. The new iPhone 13 lineup has four models 13, 13 mini, 13 Pro, and 13 Pro Max.

Apple has divided the iPhone into two variants of Pro and non-Pro. The Pro is where Apple tries to give the best of technology they can offer. Last year iPhone 12 Pro had a new finish on the outside. This year when you look at the new iPhone 13 lineup, you can’t notice much physical difference apart from a smaller notch. The non-Pro variants will now have the camera set up to be diagonal than the regular straight setup.

What’s new in iPhone 13?

So let’s talk about the improvements you can find in the new iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini. Last year with the iPhone 12, Apple has brought a new phone to the lineup, a mini. Thought iPhone 12 mini was not sold as expected due to the worst battery life they thought of continuing. They have improved the iPhone 13 battery backup to be a little longer than the iPhone 12 mini. The iPhone 13 will now have a new video recording mode called Cinematic Mode. This Cinematic Mode is present up until the pro lineup. This year Apple seems to have concentrated on camera improvement rather than including some groundbreaking innovations.

During the iPhone launch, another major update you get is the 120Hz refresh rate finally in the Pro models. Another obvious change you can guess is the new A15 Bionic chip much faster than the previous A14 Bionic chip. Coming to the camera where Apple says they have done mind-blowing changes are now you get 3X zoom in the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. Apart from the Cinematic mode, you can also record videos in ProRes format. Other changes or improvements aren’t that interesting from Apple.

Maybe Apple ran out of options to stay unique and be more innovative this year. Let’s hope for a better phone from Apple next year.

Do you need to buy iPhone 13?

This is a simple answer if you are already using iPhone 12 or 11, then NO. If you are thinking of shifting to Apple, then that would be nice to consider. Older iPhone version users can definitely try out the iPhone 13 lineup.
