After a deluge of rumors, leaks, and headlines, Google finally launched Pixel 5a. It’s the successor from last year’s 4a and usually competes in the mid-range market. Google Pixel 5a 5G is almost the same as its predecessor, Pixel 4a 5G. Let’s talk.
Did you notice the picture above? Do you think that’s Pixel 4a? It could be 5a too. Sorry, I don’t know. I found it randomly on the Internet. We’re in that kind of situation; we don’t really know which phone is which. Let me break down the differences real quick.
How Pixel 5a is different from Pixel 4a 5G
(Google Pixel 5a vs Pixel 4a 5G)
- Pixel 5a has a slightly larger screen size of 6.3inch, whereas Pixel 4a 5G has a 6.2inch screen size.
- The new Pixel 5a has a Gorilla Glass 6 on it and the Gorilla Glass 3 on the old Pixel 4a 5G.
- Google ditched Laser Autofocus on the newer Pixel 5a.
- The most significant improvement is the battery. Pixel 4a 5G got a 3855mAh battery, and they jumped to a massive 4680mAh battery capacity on Pixel 5a.
- The look and feel of the power button have changed.
- Good news! Pixel 5a offers IP67 water and dust resistance.
That’s it, that’s all of it. Everything else is the same even after one year.
