Google Pixel Foldable phone has been in rumors for a long time now. There were multiple rumors that Google would be launching it in 2021, but it seemed Google had other plans. Google in 2021 launched their first-ever Pixel device with their own SoC Tensor. There is no official confirmation from Google about working on any foldable device. But many tipsters have been giving leaks about a Google Pixel Foldable device in the works.
Until now, the leaks show some similar designs to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, but the latest leaks suggest designs like the Oppo Find N. For those unaware, Oppo Find N is the first foldable phone by Oppo. The phone’s design by hardware was pretty sweet for the tech critics. But the phone has issues with the weird aspect ratio than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. Google has got multiple code names for this project, starting from “Passport” and finally sticking with Google Pixel Fold.
After the launch of the Pixel 6 with Google’s own Tensor SoC, it is clear that Pixel Fold will also have a Tensor SoC in it. Well, how did we get the leaks without any proof from Google? It seems Google did leak it by mistake in their Android 12L. Last year after the Android 12, Google did mention that as Foldables are increasing, it is making another version of Android for them. Android 12L is designed keeping in mind the large display devices such as tablets and foldable.
So the animations for the sim insertion in the Android 12L had a Pixel-like device animation. This device looked similar to the Oppo Find N with a sim slot on the bottom and volume buttons on the right. This does suggest that a Foldable phone is in development by Google. The 9to5Google website has reported this news.
