OnePlus has been teasing about their new flagship smartphone for over a month. Today is the day they have finally revealed the phone with all its features and prices. The phone has been more in the news recently because of their partnership with Hasselblad. This partnership is to improve in the camera segment that its community members have been asking for a long time. The camera is one of the segments in which OnePlus is also lacking to call it the perfect flagship phone. OnePlus is thinking that with OnePlus 9 it has taken a big step in the camera segment. Not only the 9 series smartphones they also launched their first OnePlus Watch.
OnePlus 9 Pro:
The OnePlus 9 Pro will a successor to the OnePlus 8 Pro in terms of hardware and software. When we look at the OnePlus 9 Pro and OnePlus 8 Pro from the front you won’t notice any change. OnePlus 9 Pro has a 6.7-inch QHD+ display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate that can downscale up to 1Hz. There is one more feature that OnePlus boasts about the display is the Hyper Touch.
The camera setup on the back of the phone is a quad-camera with main, ultrawide, telephoto, and monochrome sensors. The main camera is a 48MP Sony IMX789 sensor (finally they have moved on) with an f/1.8 aperture. The Ultrawide is three times bigger than the iPhone 12 with a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor having an aperture of f/2.2. The lens in the Ultrawide camera is a freeform lens to remove distortions. The Telephoto camera is an 8MP that can zoom up to 3.2 times which is definitely not the best. And the last sensor is a 2MP Monochrome to have a sharp black and white picture. The back camera can record video up to 4K@120FPS and even in 8K@30FPS. The front camera is a 16MP Sony IMX471 sensor that has HDR support.
OnePlus 9:
The OnePlus 9 is a non-pro model of the phone that will be a successor to the OnePlus 8. OnePlus has done quite a bit of cut down to differentiate between the pro and a non-pro model. The first cut down is the display of the OnePlus 9 it has an FHD+ 6.55-inch display also with a 120Hz refresh rate. OnePlus 9 also won’t be having an adaptive refresh rate like the OnePlus 9 pro.
OnePlus 9 will have a triple camera setup on the back with main, ultrawide, and monochrome sensors. The main camera is a 48MP Sony IMX689 sensor with an aperture of f/1.8. An ultrawide camera the same as present in the OnePlus 9 Pro a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor. The third camera is also the same 2MP monochrome sensor.
Both the OnePlus 9 Pro and 9 will be having the latest chipset from Qualcomm the Snapdragon 888. This CPU is paired with Adreno 660 GPU for 35% faster than the previous chipset. The phone comes in 8GB/12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128/256GB UFS 3.1 storage options. It has a battery capacity of 4500mAh that supports 65W wired and 50W wireless charging with also support to reverse wireless charging. OnePlus 9 will be only having a 15W wireless charging support.
OnePlus 9R:
The OnePlus 9R is an India exclusive product that looks like an upgrade of the OnePlus 8T with a new Snapdragon 870 chipset. Except for the chipset and design, everything on the OnePlus 9R is similar to the OnePlus 8T.
OnePlus Watch:
Finally, we get to officially see the OnePlus Watch. The watch comes in a circular dial as per the rumors but there is no square dial version. The watch has a 1.39-inch AMOLED display with a stainless steel casing. There is another special version of cobalt limited edition that comes with a cobalt alloy case. The watch has SPO2 blood oxygen, optical heart rate, air pressure, capacitance, ambient light, acceleration, gyroscope, and a geomagnetic sensor. The smartwatch supports 110+ workout modes. The watch also can measure stress, and sleep. Another unique feature of the watch is that it can connect with the OnePlus TV as a remote.
Price:
OnePlus 9 Pro will be starting at Rs. 64,999 with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage. The 12GB RAM and 256GB storage at Rs. 69,999. The OnePlus 9 will be starting at Rs. 49,999 with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. Another variant is available at Rs. 54,999 having 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.
OnePlus 9R is available at Rs. 39,999 with 8GB and 128GB RAM of storage. OnePlus 9R having 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage is available at Rs. 43,999.
OnePlus Watch Classic version is available at Rs. 14,999 and no words of price on Cobalt limited edition.
