OnePlus launches OnePlus Nord 2 with Dimensity 1200 AI chipset

OnePlus has launched its fifth phone in the Nord lineup, the OnePlus Nord 2. After almost a year from launching their budget range Nord lineup, OnePlus has launched the phone. OnePlus has almost revealed the phone’s features before the launch, as it always gets the hype. So instead of stressing more about the specifications, let’s talk about how smart the move was and worth the money.

OnePlus Nord 2:

Let’s see a glimpse of the specs of the OnePlus Nord 2. The phone has the Mediatek Dimensity 1200 AI that Mediatek developed in partnership with OnePlus. They said that the chip was designed in collaboration to have particular AI features exclusive to the OnePlus Nord 2. The primary camera is a 50MP Sony IMX766 accompanied by an 8MP with an FoV of 119.7° and 2MP of Lens. The first camera also has an OIS(Optical Image Sensor). The new AI that was introduced in the camera section is the dual video recording option. They have also added the stereo speaker that was missing in their first Nord. The front camera is the 32MP Sony IMX615 sensor. You can view the full specifications of the Nord 2 here.

The most crucial aspect of launching any smartphone is the pricing of the phone. Recently you can observe the trend of an increase in the price when compared to the previous year. In the case of OnePlus, you can see the direction of little overpricing of the phone since the launch of Nord. Recently even in the OnePlus Nord CE or the OnePlus 9, the value for the money has been calculated very wrong by the OnePlus strategy team. OnePlus is trying to cash the fame that it has on the Oxygen OS with the overpricing.

With the Nord 2, OnePlus has taken the step to have the first chipset from MediaTek. Hope this processor lives to the standards that it was mentioned by OnePlus. The phone comes in three colors Nord Blue, Black and Green. The pricing is a little higher than expected, starting from Rs. 27,999 for a 6GB RAM and 128GB variant. You can buy the phone from Amazon and the OnePlus official websites in India.
