OnePlus officially confirms Nord 2 5G will be using MediaTek Dimensity Chipset

OnePlus Nord 2 5G is not a rumor now as the company has given an official announcement. A month ago the company has launched Nord CE 5G OnePlus is planning to release another phone in Nord lineup. Before the launch of the OnePlus Nord CE 5G there were rumors about Nord 2. In the official announcement they have revealed the chipset inside the new Nord.

OnePlus is now partnering with MediaTek to power the Nord 2 5G. They will be using the Dimensity 1200 AI SoC with 5G support. This chipset is a little different from the regular Dimensity 1200 chipset as this has been customized with more AI capabilities that the Nord 2 can use. This will also mark Nord 2 as the first OnePlus phone to have a MediaTek chipset.

OnePlus in the official statements also mentions some of the AI enhancements. These AI enhancements as mostly in the camera of the Nord 2 it supports AI color enhancement that can recognize around 22 different scenes to adjust the colors. Some other AI features are AI color boost, AI Resolution Boost and it can upscale video resolution in some of the apps. These are the only official information we have got from OnePlus.

Now lets talk about the rumored specs of the OnePlus Nord 2 5G. The Nord 2 5G will be having a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz display. The camera setup will be a triple camera setup with a 50MP Sony IMX766 as a primary sensor. It might pack a 4,500mAh battery that will of course support the WARP charge. The phone will be coming with the Oxygen OS 11 and not the Color OS as most were fearing.

In the previous week OnePlus has announced their Oxygen OS will be sharing the base with the Color OS. This led to many rumors that OnePlus will be using Color OS instead of Oxygen OS in their phones. But in the post they have clearly mentioned that the global version of phones will be using Oxygen OS.
