Samsung has its own launch event – Unpacked scheduled for today (August 11). It is expected to announce its new generation of foldable devices in this event, such as Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. Meanwhile, the OnePlus throws a surprise announcement yesterday that it is going to announce a new device. And it’s on August 11, the same day as Samsung Unpacked. The teaser shows a glimpse of what the OnePlus will announce, which seems to be a foldable phone. No rumors, no leaks; it just came from nowhere and caused the wonderment.
As both the companies making their announcements on the same day, the question is, Will OnePlus steal Samsung’s spotlight?

OnePlus took Twitter to tease the new phone announcement. At first glance, it looks like a foldable phone, but if you take a closer look, it’s like a dual-screen foldable phone. So it does not has a flexible display that folds like Samsung foldable devices; it likely has two displays similar to LG G8X ThinQ and more like the Microsoft Surface Duo concept.
And one more thing in the teaser relates to Samsung, the wallpaper. The teaser showcases the new OnePlus device with a Galaxy wallpaper; Samsung… Galaxy. It was not intentional, or was it?
