OnePlus back in 2013, came as a flagship killer phone to the market. Through the years of learning and growing, it has now gotten to be a true Flagship phone. Last year in 2020, they launched the OnePlus 8 Pro, mentioning it as their Flagship phone at a higher price tag. The phone, since the launch, has got a lot of positive reviews except the camera segment. It was always above par for the OnePlus in the camera segment. To make sure to get everything right in their OnePlus 9 Pro, they have got in touch with Hasselblad.
Hasselblad is a Sweden camera company that is in camera manufacturing for about 180 years. They are the company which took the first pictures from the space. Hasselblad is the first camera that took a picture of the earth from the moon. The company generally doesn’t collaborate with smartphone companies.
OnePlus and Hasselblad are now working together to tune the camera of the OnePlus 9 Pro. This collaboration is not a one-time, but for 3 years, according to the reports. This is something very often by smartphone companies to improve their camera performance. They are many types of collaboration in which some companies tune their own camera performance and print other companies’ names for marketing. There is another type of collaboration in which the company gives the tuning work to the camera companies. This partnership looks similar to Leica and Huawei, working together for the past 2 years. Since then, we have seen a drastic change in the Huawei camera performance in their flagship phones.
Suppose OnePlus, and Hasselblad work like Huawei and Leica, then we can see a great improvement in the camera of the OnePlus 9 Pro. Without the phone being released, we cannot give a proper justification for the camera improvement. The video mentioned how OnePlus collaborated with Hasselblad and is trying to produce more natural colours from the photos taken from the OnePlus 9 Pro.
OnePlus 9 Pro will launch on March 23rd at 7:30 PM (IST); till then, we have to wait and see.
