After the Andriod 11 announcement, every Andriod fan wants to lay their hands on it to check the new features and updates. OnePlus’s OxygenOS is something that has a huge fan base because of its lightweight and close to the Stock OS features. OnePlus is one of the companies which promises it’s user fast and consistent updates. Last time the company announced about the OxygenOS 10 as soon as the Andriod 10 has been announced and this time also it is planning to release OxygenOS 11 with the Andriod 11 by the end of this year.
The first thing you will notice in the OxygenOS is the new UI and the most asked feature in the community Always On Display(AOD). OnePlus has teamed up with Parsons School of Design for the new AOD design which has a timeline with the number of times you have unlocked the phone and time being displayed on it. They are a few more designs which you can have a look into in the pictures below.
Another major change you are going to observe is the UI of the gallery the UI has been changed completely as you can see the picture of it below. The gallery now has a feature where it makes all our pictures into a short story.
The OxygenOS 11 has been developed in mind for one-handed use which every user was asking for but some of the UI does look similar to the OneUI of the Samsung. The settings menu when looking at it you just get a glimpse of the OneUI because of its big heading on the top almost filling half of its screen. The Dailer app, Alarm, Recorder all the stock apps get the OneUI touch. Maybe because OnePlus thinks that OneUI has more flexibility for the one-handed operations, but this leaves OxygenOS lovers with a disappointment for the stock feel.
One More major change has been done to the Weather app which now has new animations according to the time and weather. The camera just has small UI changes and a new share to option from the camera app itself. The Zen mode also has revamped with new UI. And finally, we have the dark mode toggle option in the control panel which makes it easier to switch to the dark mode which as missing earlier.
Overall the OxygenOS 11 Beta version has a mixed feeling as most of the changes make you remind of the OneUI which makes this feel more custom than the regular stock feel Oxygen OS.
