PUBG MOBILE and PUBG MOBILE Lite are completely shutting down their servers in India starting from October 30. They announced their termination of services via Facebook and posted the same in the game’s community forum. The world’s leading mobile game has ended its story now in India. It is first banned in the second wave of the Chinese app ban along with 117 other applications.

PUBG announced their termination in India writing,

“Dear Fans, To comply with the interim order of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology dated September 2, 2020, Tencent Games will terminate all service and access for users in India to PUBG MOBILE Nordic Map: Livik and PUBG MOBILE Lite (together, “PUBG Mobile”) on October 30, 2020. The rights to publish PUBG MOBILE in India will be returned to the owner of the PUBG intellectual property.

Protecting user data has always been a top priority and we have always complied with applicable data protection laws and regulations in India. All users’ gameplay information is processed in a transparent manner as disclosed in our privacy policy.

We deeply regret this outcome, and sincerely thank you for your support and love for PUBG MOBILE in India.”

After the initial ban of PUBG Mobile on September 2; iOS users could neither install the app from the app store nor sideload them. So only the ones that already had the app installed could possibly play after the ban. Whereas the android user could even sideload them and play, They did it. But after this server termination, no one could possibly play until and unless they try to bypass it with a VPN.

Post to the termination, PUBG Mobile India’s social profiles disappeared. Deactivation or Deletion is still a question. Also, their official Indian website is down.

Although the ban is on the Mobile game, PUBG still is available for users to play. Tencent Games has a stake in PUBG Mobile and that’s the reason why it was banned in the first place. PUBG’s intellectual property still belongs to PUBG Corporation, a South Korean company. Users can buy it from steam and can play on PC, no restrictions placed on that.
