Samsung in the Event “Galaxy Unpacked for Every Fan” has unveiled its new lineup to the Galaxy S20 series. We all know how the S20 series was received by the Samsung lovers and tech enthusiasts around the world. Samsung being a giant in the Andriod smartphone market would like to thank all its Fans. Samsung has made a new lineup in the S series named the Fan Edition(FE). The first smartphone in this lineup will be the Galaxy S20 FE.
The main theme of the new series to not only to thank the fans but also to provide an affordable S series to their customers. Let’s not waste more time and get into the specifications.
Specifications:
Display:
Samsung Galaxy S20 FE has a 6.5″ Super AMOLED FHD+ display(1080 x 2400 pixels) with a high 120Hz refresh rate. The display has a 20:9 aspect ratio with 409 PPI(Pixel Per Inch) density with corning gorilla glass 3. The display does support HDR10+ and also has an Always-on-display.
Design:
The design of the phone on the back has a plastic back but with aluminum frames on the side. The design of the back is similar to its lineup but with only 3 cameras at the back. This Galaxy S20 FE comes in 5 different colors. These 5 colors include “Cloud “:
- Navy,
- Lavender,
- Mint,
- Red, and
- Orange.
These 5 colors were chosen from the requests of fans. I personally love the Navy and Mint colors. What about you?
Cameras:
Let’s jump into the camera section. The Galaxy S20 FE has a 12MP main camera with f/1.8 with OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide camera with f/2.2, and a Telephoto lens of 8MP with f/2.0 and OIS. The telephoto lens has an optical zoom up to 3x and maximum zoom up to 30x. Galaxy S20 FE has a single front camera with 32MP f/2.0. The main cam does support video recording up to 4K and also has a dedicated night mode. The front camera also supports video recording at 4K.
Software & Performance:
Galaxy S20 FE comes with the OneUI 2.0 based on Andriod 10. Samsung also promises to provide software updates for up to 3 generations. The Galaxy S20 FE comes with the same processor on the S20 but in 2 versions 4G version and 5G version. This means that we will have an Exynos and a Snapdragon version of this phone(Except US). The 4G version of Galaxy S20 FE will have an Exynos 990 (Except US). The 5G version will have the Snapdragon 865 which is similar to that found in S20.
Storage & Battery:
Samsung Galaxy S20 FE is available in 3 versions based on RAM and Storage. A 6GB/128GB , 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB with UFS 3.1. The smartphone will have a massive 4500mAh battery with its AI Battery optimization will last you more than a day. The Phone comes with a 25W charger which charges more than 50% in 30 minutes. The phone does even support reverse wireless charging.
Price:
The pricing of the 5G version starts from $699 which is nearly equal to 52000 INR when converted. The official Indian pricing is yet to be confirmed. The phone will be available from October 2nd and you can pre-book starting from September 24th itself.
Overall S20 FE is a compact flagship phone with all the key features of the S20 phone. Samsung also says that they will release Fan Edition to the S series even in the upcoming phones.
