After a lot of concerns raised by the customers, Samsung seems it finally heard the users and decided to remove ads from its stock apps.
You might see ads displayed at least on a single preloaded Samsung app if you own a Samsung device. Based on your geo-location, it may or may not show ads. For Instance, Samsung will show ads on a bunch of Samsung core apps like Game Launcher on budget-range devices. People hate that. Even if that’s a budget range device, the consumer is getter budget range specs on paper, then why ads? Samsung shows ads in some other apps like Samsung Weather and Samsung Pay. And sometimes on premium devices too. It’s completely based on geo-location and other factors.
However, the South Korean company heard the complaints and took them seriously. Samsung will soon release an update that will finally remove the ads from the company’s core apps.
During an internal town hall meeting, Samsung Mobile chief TM Roh confirmed removing ads from the company’s preloaded apps.
“Our priority is to deliver innovative mobile experiences for our consumers based on their needs and wants,” the company said. “We value feedback from our users and continue our commitment to provide them with the best possible experience from our Galaxy products and services,” the company said in a statement, according to The Verge.
“Samsung has made a decision to cease the advertisement on proprietary apps including Samsung Weather, Samsung Pay, and Samsung Theme. The update will be ready by later this year.”
If you’re a Samsung user and frustrated to see those ads? Relax, you’ll get an update anytime soon that probably takes your frustration away.
