The Stable Version of Android 11 is released on September 8th by Google. The first phones that receive this are of course the Google-owned Pixel Phones. If you have a Pixel phone then you might be getting this update by now except the original Pixel and Pixel XL. So now as Andriod 11 is released let’s get to know some of its key features.
Google from the Android 10 onwards changed the nomenclature to simply the number of the version. Andriod 11 is the name for this year’s Android version. After updating your device to Android 11 the first thing every user will notice is the User Interface(UI). Although there is not much UI difference from the previous version they are some noticeable.
New Features:
- The new Notification drawer this time instead of important and silent notification as on Android 10, this time Andriod 11 has 3 categories. Conversations, Alerting notifications and Silent Notification. This gives a clear idea that Google has concentrated more on communication.
- The new Chat heads, this feature is available to all the messaging apps which makes users give instant replies instead of opening the app. The Beta version of Android 10 already used to have this but later they removed it in the official stable version.
- Another important feature is that Andriod 11 now comes with Screen recording. This feature is already present in most of the phones but this time it officially comes with Android. This option is present in the quick toggles menu.
- IoT device’s controls are now available in the Power Menu. So you can use them all here instead of opening their apps.
- The Quick settings now will also have the music controls instead of the important notification area that was in Android 10.
- Android 11 also has improved the security with the on-app permissions which gets reset if the app is not being used for a long time.
- Wireless Android Auto.
- And some more features which you can view here.
So as the new Android is released other companies like Oneplus, Xiaomi, Realme, Oppo have released a schedule of devices that get the Android 11 update. While other companies are still planning to release the schedule.
