WhatsApp will let you decide the upload quality of photos and videos you send

Although WhatsApp remains one of the most popular messengers to communicate with your friends and family, it might be facing intense competition from Telegram and Signal. So, WhatsApp has to add some advanced features that its competitors already offering. In a recent beta, the version hinted at some upcoming changes to media compression. It looks like users will soon get to choose the quality of photos and video they send on WhatsApp.

According to WABetaInfo, a feature is found under development in WhatsApp for Android Beta v2.21.14.16. In the previous build, WABetaInfo found that WhatApp added quality settings for video. And now it seems they are working on the same for photos too.

WhatsApp will introduce the same settings that are already seen to manage the video quality in the previous beta:

Since both video and photo quality settings are under development, neither is available to the public version of WhatsApp yet. However, we are now aware that WhatsApp is bringing one of the most awaited features. It seems we don’t have to wait for too long to test these features out for ourselves. And if you’re a beta tester, you’ll get to see them in no time.
