It’s been two months since the massive release of Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead, and Netflix is already preparing its prequel Army of Thieves. Army of the Dead was recorded as one of the most-watched movies in the same month of its release. Netflix has already greenlit the prequel back then. Matthias Schweighöfer, the safecracker Dieter from Army of the Dead, unveiled the teaser for his upcoming prequel Army of Thieves during the production’s panel at “Comic-Con at Home 2021.”

The one-minute teaser features no zombies at all except a glimpse from a news broadcast. And this movie will not take place in Vegas, the upraising zombie state. The upcoming movie mainly narrates a Heist story set in Europe. The teaser features Matthias Schweighöfer, the safecracker Dieter recruited by Gwendolyn (Played by Fast and Furious fame Nathalie Emmanuel) for a Heist job or maybe series of Heists in Europe. Army of Thieves is set to release on Netflix this fall.

For the Army of Thieves, Matthias Schweighöfer is the main lead, and not only that, but he also served as Director. Schweighöfer is also on the list of producers, including Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, Dan Maag.

At Comic-Con@Home 2021, the group discussed how the project came together during the making of Army of the Dead.

“We liked the idea, the fact that it was set at a time when zombies existed in the world, but it wasn’t a zombie film,” Deborah Snyder explained. “This is more of a romantic comedy heist film than anything else, happens to live in this world where the zombies are in the United States causing Banking systems some instability, so it’s having people move money around.”

Netflix later shared a poster of the upcoming film Army of Thieves on Twitter:
