DC is looking to bring in a new universe of superheroes in a new way. This new universe of superheroes is not coming in HBO Max or Movies but on Spotify. DC Comics is working with Spotify to bring nine shows in the form of podcasts. DC creative director Jin Lee didn’t give much information about the shows, but as we know, the nine shows include stories about Catwoman, Wonder Woman, the Riddler, Batgirl, Superman and Lois Lane, and more.
Spotify and DC comics from the last June were involved in a deal for podcasts. Earlier, Warner Brothers also confirmed that there would be more movies and show coming from DC Comics in a multi-universe. The podcast deal is also one of the expansions of their universe.
The first project from DC Comics and Spotify will be Batman Unburied. This podcast show will cover the darker aspects of Bruce Wayne’s psychology. There will be another Batman Podcast from HBO Max Exclusive. This version will be having the voice of Jeffrey Wright. The show is titled Batman: The Audio Adventures, which is a comedic take on the property. This series on HBO Max is completely different from the Spotify universe.
DC Comics competitor Marvel also has its own deal of podcasts with Pandora and Stitcher. It is the perfect time for all three companies as podcasts are heating up for the last few years. There will be more superhero content coming to the billions of fans than before. DC comics is just pouring the content in all forms everywhere as we are nearing Zack Synder’s Justice League.
