Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot will reportedly play the Evil Queen in Disney’s upcoming live-action movie Snow White.
The Disney’s adaption of Snow White is in works and the reports claim that Disney always wanted Gadot for the role and the final discussions were done this week. The movie will get on sets in 2022.
According to Deadline, Rachel Zegler, the West Side Story and Shazam 2 actress, will be playing the title role in Snow white and now Gal Gadot will join the cast to play The Evil Queen.
“Gadot was also intrigued at the opportunity of joining stars like Angelina Jolie and Cate Blanchett, who previously played iconic villains from the Disney vault. After scheduling was worked out, a deal closed this week,” the site reported.
Marc Webb, who directed 500 days of Summer and The Amazin Spider-Man movies, is directing the Disney’s upcoming live-action adaption of Snow White.
The new Disney’s Snow White will reportedly “expand upon the story and music” from the 1938 animated classic. La La Land’s Benj Pasek and Justin Paul will write new songs for the movie, and expected to begin production in 2022.
Gal Gadot is busy
In the meantime, Gadot will be in Netflix’s most expensive movie ever – Red Notice, starring Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) and Ryan Reynolds. Red Notice premieres November 5 on Netflix.
Gadot is currently filming the thriller movie Heart of Stone and is also developing a Cleopatra movie, according to Deadline. Her next movie will be Disney’s Death on the Nile, which opens in theaters in February 2022. However, for all the DC fans, she will come back as Wonder Woman for her third solo movie.
