Game of Thrones Prequel House of the Dragon: Paddy Considine as Viserys Targaryen

Game of Thrones Prequel: House of the Dragon was first announced on October 30, 2019. Recently, HBO has announced Paddy Considine will play Viserys Targaryen.

Reportedly, Paddy Considine will be playing the fifth Targaryan king on the Iron Throne. Entertainment Weekly has released a plot detail.

HBO didn’t mention much but the description says; “Viserys was chosen by the lords of Westeros to succeed the Old King, Jaehaerys Targaryen, at the Great Council at Harrenhal. A warm, kind, and decent man, Viserys only wishes to carry forward his grandfather’s legacy, but as we’ve learned from Game of Thrones, good men do not necessarily make for great kings.”

House of the Dragon is to feature the events from 300 years before to the GOT that we’ve seen. The primary series shows how Daenerys Targaryen tries to restore her house and captures the throne. Considine is to play the first Viserys in Targaryen house (Viserys I Targaryen, rider of Balerion the Black Dread). We should consider, Danny’s brother is Viserys III Targaryen. Game of Thrones Prequel: House of the Dragon will mainly turn around the Targaryen house of Dragonstone. Viserys I’s death leads to Dance of the Dragons, the civil war in-between the Dragon house.

We know Paddy Considine from his roles in HBO’s The Third Day and The Outsider. Also for Peaky Blinders, Hot Fuzz, The Girl With All the Gifts, and Dead Man’s Shoes.
