HBO Max India subscription prices leaked before the official launch

The pricing is cheaper than most OTT applications

HBO Max India

HBO’s own OTT platform HBO Max is looking to enter India and could announce its official launch soon. Before the company has made any announcement the prices for the subscription have been leaked. A website OnlyTech has reported that the subscription price for HBO Max in India will be starting from Rs. 69 per month. HBO Max after entering India will be competing against 35 plus other OTT platforms.

In the post they mentioned that the subscriptions from HBO Max will be having three tiers. Interestingly you will be having a plan titles Ad supported plan. This plan will include ads and is the least priced of all starting at Rs. 69 per month. The second plan will be the HBO Max Mobile that is ad free but only supports 1 stream at a time with a price of Rs. 139 per month. The last plan is the HBO Max Standard that supports 3 streams at a time with a price of Rs. 329 per month.

The main difference you find in the plans is the time of which the titles will be available. The Standard plan has an early release that means directly after the theatrical release or digital release. The HBO Max Standard plan is the only plan that supports UHD or 4K content. The cheapest plan that comes with ads also will be the last to view the content in HBO Max, almost after one year of the theatrical release and when a whole season is available. The Mobile plan also doesn’t get the content as soon as it is available. It will get the series after 2 to 3 weeks after a global launch and movies after 6 to 8 months after the global release.

Apart from the monthly subscription plans you also get the option for yearly subscription plans. During the initial days HBO Max India offers a discount when you buy an yearly plan. For the HBO Max Mobile plan you get a discount of 40% and you have to pay Rs. 1,001 per year. The HBO Max Standard plan will be having a discount of 50% and you have to pay Rs. 1,974 per year.
