The standalone version of Lionsgate Play is now available in India to stream right away. Lionsgate is a Hollywood studio that is well-known for John Wick, Hunger Games, and Rambo. Till now, in India, the movies from Lionsgate Play streamed with the partnership of Indian telecoms Airtel, Vodafone, and Jio. They are streamed in their streaming applications like Airtel Xstream and Jio TV+.
Now, it has its own; Lionsgate Play App is available to download in India. Also, they have their own pricing and all. The base plan is for INR 99 per month. And their annual plan gets a 41% off pricing at INR 699 per year. Whatever you choose, you’ll get to have a 14-day trial period along with the plan.
Content
Lionsgate Play has some pretty great movies to stream; such as Hunger Games, John Wick, Rambo, Twilight Saga, and dozens more. Few TV shows include Anger Management, The Royals, Dead Beat, and more. A must-mention thing is, most of the movies are available in several Indian languages after English; those include, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Kannada, and Bhojpuri. As I mentioned, a few TV shows mean few, a very few. As this service has just launched and has more to do, we can expect more content to come further for the purchase.
The very new movies and some famous titles are available in 4K and the remaining can only be streamed in Full HD. I see no mentions of Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos anywhere. As the service is in the testing stage (live after-launch tests ), we’re are not aware of all features that they included. We might get more info soon. At least for now, there is bug-free streaming available.
One more mention
When the video is playing, we used to see a huge Lionsgate Play logo at the top-right corner; this is when we stream in Airtel Xstream or other sources. Lionsgate seems to be it is unlikely to remove that logo. It is still available when we stream in Lionsgate Play too. That is a problem as its size is huge.
The app is available to download on Android, iOS, Android TV, and Apple TV. The web version is also available to stream at lionsgateplay.com.
So that’s it for now. Thank you for reading and do share if you get a bit piece of information. Also, keep an eye on this space to get more relevant updates. Stay safe and hope we see you around.
