Loki, the television series, earns the title of most-watched Disney+ Series Premiere so far. It seems Disney+ has another hit TV show streaming on it. Disney CEO Bob Chapek has announced that Loki is “the most-watched premiere on Disney+ during its opening week.”
Disney didn’t reveal any official numbers on the show’s viewership. The studio released a similar statement following the premiere of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, saying the show has a larger audience than both WandaVision and The Mandalorian Season 2 without providing exact figures. But recently, they reported that Disney+ had grown beyond 103 million subscribers.
According to the Fandom Post on Twitter, the data of the number of U.S. households that watched the Loki series on Disney+ on the first day is as follows,
Loki – 890K U.S. households
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier – 759K U.S. households
WandaVision – 655K U.S. households
The Marvel Show Loki is streaming on Disney+ with one episode premiered last Wednesday from a total of six episodes. Each new episode comes out every Wednesday till July 14.
The official overview of Loki reads, “In Marvel Studios’ Loki, the mercurial villain Loki (Tom Hiddleston) resumes his role as the God of Mischief in a new series that takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame.”
Directed by Kate Herron, Loki’s first episode showcased the rich environment of TVA (Time Variance Authority), where Loki headed to after escaping with Tesseract during Avengers: Endgame. There are five more episodes to come, so stay tuned for the complete spoiler-free season review.
