Marvel’s Black Panther sequel to start filming in July 2021

After the demise of Chadwick Boseman who is the bigwig in Black Panther. Marvel Studio is planning to commence the shoot of its sequel Black Panther 2 in July 2021.

Actually, the studio has planned to start the production in March 2021. But 2020 is the only year in which Marvel hasn’t released any movies. This is the only year since 2009 from which Marvel has been empty over the year due to the pandemic.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the sequel was kept aside due to the sudden demise of Boseman. Marvel and the director Ryan Coogler have shown their grief. This would be the most liked tweet ever, says Twitter upon Boseman’s last tweet.

Marvel had no comment on the story how to continue without Boseman. Although it also indicated that it won’t use CGI to include the late star in the film.

Mexican actor Tenoch Huerta, who was one of the stars of Netflix’s Narcos: Mexico, is in talks to play one of the antagonists, mentioned by The Hollywood Reporter.

Black Panther benefitted with a mostly black cast and strong female characters, everyone liked Boseman’s performance. Both the villains in the film Andy Serkis’ Ulysses Klaue and Michael B Jordan’s Killmonger also got praises from the movie-lovers. Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett and Forest Whitaker also starred in Black Panther. Directed by Ryan Coogler, the film became a hit with both critics and audiences, earning more than 1.3 billion dollars.

Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke and Angela Bassett are expected to return for the new feature, with some saying Wright’s character Shuri may take on a more prominent role.
