Star Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi original series release date is officially announced by Bob Chapek, CEO of Disney, on today’s earnings call. Obi-Wan Kenobi, the new limited Star Wars series from Lucasfilm, will premiere exclusively on Disney+ and the official release date is May 25.
One of the greatest Jedi ever is back for a new mission.
The new series is next in line to The Book of Boba Fett, which wrapped up recently. According to the announcement article, the story of the original series takes place after 10 years of events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. We still know very little about the series; but some hints claim we’ll get to see the new duel with Darth Vader.
“The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, in which Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat — the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side and became the evil Sith Lord, Darth Vader.”
Also, Marvel Comics recently announced a comic series with five stories set in different time frames in Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Jedi career. It is written by Christopher Cantwell, the writer of Iron Man, and illustrated by Ario Anindito. The first issue of the comic series will release in May 2022, just in time for the Disney Plus series.
