Loki Season 1 Spoiler-Free Review: A story that changes the entire MCU

Loki just pruned the old MCU.

Loki Season 1 Review

[Edited] Original Image Credit: Marvel Studios

Loki is not a plain and simple story to narrate. The cast and crew just nailed it and made the complex story easily understandable and very entertaining. Written by Michael Waldron and Directed by Kate Herron, Loki is one of the best sci-fi actions to watch. Before we get into Marvel’s Loki Review, let’s read the synopsis and info of episodes.

By the way, I want to write this review with a spoiler-free promise so that you won’t get any kind of data from the original story except the synopsis. I just share my opinion in the review. So rest assured and read the complete review.

Synopsis

The official synopsis read, “In Marvel Studios’ Loki, the mercurial villain Loki (Tom Hiddleston) resumes his role as the God of Mischief in a new series that takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame.”

Basically, the story rotates around the God of Mischief, Loki, who get arrested by TVA (Time Variance Authority) for certain crimes. In the later part of the story, you’ll get to know what exactly is TVA, how Loki figures it out and what Loki faces in his journey to destiny.

Opinion

As I mentioned earlier, Marvel’s Loki is not a plain and simple story to narrate; it is so complex. Assume how hard it is to tell a complex story in a most entertaining and easy understanding way. Well, that’s not new for Marvel Studios; they are really good at story-telling. Talking about this series, the direction, writing and cast performances are incredible. That made the story-telling a fun part.

Loki, played by Tom Hiddleston, just narrated the story with his acting and expressions. Yeah, I would say that. Tom’s behaviour as Loki is so suited, as we know so far, here in this series, you’ll explore more of Loki and his other sides.

In the Marvel’s Loki Season 1, with a total of six episodes, the narration maintained certain suspense throughout the story. And as Tom said in a Featurette, “Expect the Unexpected,” that is what you probably feel. From episode-1 to 6, I bet you’ll wonder, “What is happening? Who is that?” at the end and then you’ll get it in the next episode; that’s slick.

Talking about visuals and art, building an entire TVA environment is pretty cool, and the props & weapons they use are so unique. The CGI parts are very detailed; you can go through the breakdown videos on YouTube to observe how detailed they are.

You’ll end up knowing a part of the story cause the series ends at episode 6 with suspense again. However, Marvel Studios already confirmed that “Loki will return in Season 2.”

Verdict

In conclusion to the Marvel Studios’ Loki Review, this is the verdict I feel like writing. Loki is just another fantastic story from the house of MCU. I believe it played a prominent role for MCU to continue the story-telling journey post-Avengers. You’ll get to see new characters, new powers, a new genre (*I would say), and a new exceptional story. Most importantly, it’s a must-watch to understand other upcoming movies and TV series in MCU’s Phase 4 and the later phases.

Marvel made a perfect masterpiece out of a complex story. The cast performances are outstanding, and the screenplay is very engaging to watch.

Here’s is the score that I feel Iike giving to the entire season 1 of Loki. You can go through the score and its breakdown below.
