Opinion

Midnight Mass is an intense horror drama full of miracles and supernatural events. The show perfectly portrays the environment of Crockett Island and the only little town on it with just around 127 people living in it, working as fishermen to live their ordinary daily lives. There are multiple small families, and each got its own story. The connections between the people on the Island and their religious activities are perfectly represented in the series. The story moves in a one-way screenplay that is perfectly crafted.

Talking about the story, it is a well-built, character-stuffed horror story. You get to see a moderate number of cast on screen, and each acted so naturally to paint the story. Horror events are pictured and directed well. The title Midnight Mass perfectly indicates some events in the storyline.

The storytelling goes so well and engaging. The first few episodes include so many character-specific scenes to immerse the character’s background to the audience. I feel it is a bit lagged in that case. However, it turns into an engaging tone in no time. If you watched The Haunting of the Hill House or The Haunting of Bly Manor, you probably know the splendid work of Mike Flanagan, Director; And that seems no less in Midnight Mass. I can say he is the master in generating horror dramas. The direction is so good that it makes you irresistible to watch the very next episode without a time break until the season ends. The story becomes more engaging and exciting while you’re reaching the end. And a must mention is the ending of the season, it was so pleasant and satisfying. The final episode gives you a rollercoaster ride with numerous events, which appears like it ruins the ending but finally gives a perfect end to the story.

Verdict

In conclusion to Netflix’s Midnight Mass review, this is the verdict I feel like writing. Midnight Mass is not just another ordinary horror drama; it involves so many emotions, religious beliefs, dots that connect a perfect story until the end. The direction, screenplay, visuals, cast performances, and well-composed monologues play a prominent role in painting the entire story. The Horror sequences and the drama part are well balanced that makes Midnight Mass a must-watch.
