Spider-Man: No Way Home is no doubt the most hyped movie of 2021 that has also kept its hype. The movie has became the first movie to cross $1 billion in just 12 days post Covid situation. The movie is also behind Avengers: End Game and Avengers: Infinite War. Now the questions comes when Spider-Man: No Way Home will be available for streaming and on which OTT platform. The date is not yet confirmed but the streaming platform is confirmed to be Starz Play.
Spider-Man: No Way Home will be first available for streaming on Starz in the coming six months. This has been said by Starz CEO Jeffrey Hirsch in an interview with Deadline. He did mention that at Starz “Ours is a retention game, not an acquisition game,”. They will be happy to line up content week to week for 52 weeks every year and move the audience from one show to another. He then added viewers are looking for more and more original content and on the linear side people are finding more movies than original series.
“A big film like Spider-Man: No Way Home, which will hit Starz sometime over the next six months, is a tremendous boost providing” Hirsch to Deadline. And if Starz can put right shows around it can pull audience to move and watch originals from Starz.
After the contract between Sony and Netflix everyone thought the movie will be first coming to Netflix and then to Disney+. But as per the contract the movies that are released after 2022 will be part of the contract and Spider-Man: No Way Home is released in 2021. And there is no word on if the movie will be coming to any other platforms apart from Starz.
