Spotify is going HiFi. At the virtual “Stream On” event on Monday, Spotify announced its plans to launch Spotify HiFi. The leading music service enables lossless audio with this new tier.
Spotify HiFi to arrive later this year. “It will deliver music in CD-quality, lossless audio format to your device and Spotify Connect-enabled speakers. This means fans will be able to experience more depth and clarity while enjoying their favorite tracks,” said Spotify in its blog post.
High-quality audio means just more info.

“It is really important just cause’ we make music that wants to be heard the way that it was made,” She added.
Spotify said high-quality music streaming is consistently one of the most requested new features by users. Billie and Finneas also agreed that it is important to have that feature as the details matter a lot.
As we know so far, this Spotify HiFi is a separate tier that can be upgraded from Premium; maybe it will be an add-on kind. Spotify didn’t mention any details regarding the new plan’s price, launch date, or even which markets will support the new subscription at launch.
If Spotify is also coming to offer lossless audio, Apple will be the last one in the list which doesn’t offer that. Tidal has its own master-quality recordings rolled out in 2017. Amazon Music also followed the same, bringing Amazon Music HD back in September 2019. Finally, it is time for Spotify in 2021 because until now, Spotify topped out at 320kbps audio.
