Some good news for the tech lovers as we get a confirmation about the 5G spectrum. During the Union Budget session for the year 2022 the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced that the auction of 5G spectrum in India will be done this year. There hasn’t been any timeline update about this but will be done before the Q4 of 2022.
The rollout of the 5G spectrum by the private telecom companies will be done by 2022-23. This will be a great move for the telecommunication especially smartphone manufacturers. With the implementation of 5G by 2022-23 we can see a huge growth in the opportunities for the youth in 5G enabled devices. This would also boost the sales in the devices having support to the 5G. A researcher did mention that the smartphone sales of the 5G supported will be increasing by three times.

With the announcement of the auction of 5G spectrum there is another thing government is eyeing for. The long waited optical fiber project that will allow rural areas of the country to experience the fast internet will be targeted to be completed by 2025. This rollout across the country will happen faster than the previous generation roll outs. Not only that government will allows 5% of the total collections under the Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF). This will make the internet accessible at an affordable prices in rural parts of India.
On the other hand the private telecom providers are already ready testing in parts of India with the 5G network. They have been long ready in order to compete with each other to provide the first 5G network in India.
