Amazon launches its own Smart TV AmazonBasics Fire TV Lineup in India

Amazon is trying to extend its products to every possible department and this time to TVs. In the year 2020, the TV market saw a boom with so many new brands coming into it. Amazon launched a couple of 4K TV’s making the price range more competitive under its brand AmazonBasics Fire TV. There are many TV’s for the customers to choose from brands like Xiaomi, Realme, OnePlus, TCL, Vu and even Nokia. In all these brands Xiaomi stood out with more percentage of TVs sold.

The AmazonBasics Fire TV will be competing with the entry range 4K smart TVs. The screen size of the two is 50-inches and 55-inches with both having UltraHD LED Screen(3840 x 2160 pixels). The screen of both the TVs support HDR10+ HLG and Dolby Vision also. The display has a 60Hz refresh rate with a 178-degree viewing angle. The Speaker output is 20W with Dolby Atmos support.

Now coming to the ports it comes with a 3x HDMI port, 1x USB 3.0, 1x USB 2.0, 1x Optical Audio out, and 1x 3.5mm jack. The TV is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.95Ghz also with 9th gen Amlogic Imaging Engine. It runs on the Fire TV OS which does support all the main OTT platforms including Netflix, Prime Video, Disney + Hotstar, Youtube, and 5000 + apps. You will have access to Alexa using the dedicated microphone button.

With this intro, Amazon gives a clue that there will be more products coming into the TV market soon. While most of the TVs in this range run on Android TV and very few with Fire TV OS this will be challenging for Amazon but have to wait and see. This is more of a Fire TV Stick 4K having Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos inbuilt in a TV.

The pricing of TVs also is aggressive considering the features the 50-inch TV will be costing Rs. 29,999 and the 55-inch will be costing Rs. 34,999.
