Amazon is planning to take on its rival Netflix in India by introducing a new Mobile plan. This mobile-only plan will start from today, starting at Rs. 89/month. The pricing looks very aggressive when compared to Netflix mobile plan. But there is a twist in the tale for this offer to be claimed. Amazon introduced this plan in partnership with Airtel. The world’s first “Amazon Prime Video Mobile Edition” will be working only on the mobile.
This plan will stream videos only in SD quality, and we cannot watch them on PC or Web or SmartTV. This plan works only in Android and iOS applications. Amazon Prime Video made this announcement through Twitter. Well, Amazon looks to play the card nicely when compared to the Netflix mobile plan at Rs. 199/month.

The only advantage here for Netflix is that the mobile plan can be bought separately. In the case of Amazon Prime Video Mobile Edition, you have to recharge with Airtel prepaid plan above Rs. 89. To claim the offer, one must have to head over to the Airtel Thanks app after their recharge and activate it. With the recharge, you also get an extra 6GB of data as an add on.
With the Mobile Edition, you only get access to Prime Video and not the whole of Prime advantages. If you want to get the benefits of the whole bundle of Prime, such as Prime Music, Prime Video, and Two-day delivery, you have to pay either Rs. 120/month or Rs. 999/month.
