Disney Plus Hotstar has introduced new subscription plans in September. These plans start from Rs 499 a year for mobile users to Rs 1,499 for Premium users. After the new plans that made the entire library available to all the plans saw a growth of 50% new subscribers, it seems that Disney Plus Hotstar is planning to introduce another plan for mobile-only for just Rs 99 per month.
There is some serious trouble coming for Netflix India from Disney Plus Hotstar. A few weeks ago, a report suggested that Disney Plus has 50% more subscriber growth than Netflix, which only saw 5% growth. After this, we saw Netflix India announcing new subscription plans from Rs 149 per month to Rs 649 per month.
It’s now time for Disney Plus to introduce a mobile-only plan in India. A report in Reddit shows that Disney Plus Hotstar is offering a new subscription plan at Rs 49 per month. This Rs 49 per month is introductory and gives a Rs 50. This new mobile plan will support content up to 720P and has only support to one screen only on Mobile. There is no restriction to the library with the plan, but this plan does support ads in all the content.
The plan is in a testing state for selected Android users and will be out soon. The plan will be available for users trying to play only using a Credit Card, Debit Card, Paytm, PhonePe, or UPI. Any other payment option will not be accepted. This plan seems reasonable to users that watch content only on Mobile for a limited period. What do you think of the new plan by Disney Plus Hotstar?
