Facebook Messenger now lets you Split Payments with friends

The feature will be rolled out in a staged manner starting from US

Messenger Split Payment

Meta has introduced a new feature to its Facebook Messenger. This new feature will let you split payments with friends on the messenger app. This feature will allow you to ease the work of splitting bills with your friends. You can calculate the total bill and split it, including the shares that everyone has to pay, including yours.

This feature is still in beta testing and will be first available to the users living in the US. According to the article in 9to5Mac, the feature will be rolling out to the users starting next week. Meta has also mentioned this feature in a blog that says all the features out this year. This feature lets you split any type of bills like apartment rents, shopping bills, expenses, and payments.

With the Split payments feature in Facebook Messenger, you can add as many people you want to split the bill with. You can also edit each person’s share to contribute, including yours. To use the Split payments option, the user should click on the Get Started button in the group chat or Payments hub in Messenger. After that, you can enter the amount to be split and the people that have to pay the share for that amount. You can send a personalized message with the payment message and let everyone in the group view how much they need to pay. Once the payment has been made, you can mark the transaction as completed.

Apart from this, Meta has brought many other features in the Soundmojis, themes, and more. You can have a look at the features from the official blog here.
